How many of you here have been in a position where you were pretty sure that another individual wanted (and had the capacity) to a) kill you or b) beat you to within an inch or two of your life? Literally.

Kinda. I almost put a clause in excluding military personnel and police, but I felt it would be disrespectful.

I had a student tell another student that he wanted to kill me.

But that kid never followed through on anything - that's why he was failing my class.

Got accosted by a group of thugs once who were more than happy to "knock me back to China". Luckily a cop happened to be around the corner and happened on the scene before they physically attacked.

Did you let them know that particular location was WAY out of your way home and that the inconvenience was gonna be more of a pain in the ass than anything else?

No, but I did think of something clever and witty to say back to them. Unfortunately, it was after I got home and changed my underwear.

I used to be a target for dirty hits in Soccer and Lacrosse. I have had a few people threaten to beat me up at parties, but they were really drunk and I usually had more friends around to back me up.

Well, I was shot at by a drunk one night, so yeah. Thankfully he missed.

Over here when we graduate school everyone goes on a massive party week. Anyway I went out one night and everyone was telling me that this guy from grade was out to fight me because I tried to fight him the night before (which is odd because I'm normally a fairly passive person and I had nothing against the guy). The funny thing is that neither of us could remember the situation and were both told about it by friends.
