A body thought to be that of the suspect - taxi driver Derrick Bird - has been found in the Boot area.
The first fatality was in Whitehaven before the gunman drove south, apparently shooting people at random.
Witnesses said the suspect drove through the town with a gun hanging out of his car window, before heading south through Gosforth and Seascale.

Early days yet, but hopefully they won't find too many more victims. By all accounts the weapon used was a shotgun (which are legal in the UK), but I am not sure that has been confirmed.

Based on what the news is reporting, this person was driving around in his car, pulling up and shooting people and then driving on. It wasn't until after the event that they even reaslised just how many people had been shot.

Edit: NOT implying that this is no less a tragedy- just saying I have seen too much of this stuff

Edit: NOT implying that this is no less a tragedy- just saying I have seen too much of this stuff | I dare say it's relative. The last big mass shooting in the UK that I remember was Dunblane. (not saying it was the last one, it's certainly the last one I remember). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunblane_massacre

ANY murder is wrong. It just makes me sick how the news decides what to cover based on, what more-or-less ammounts to, racism and classism.
My heart goes out to these victims and their family

It almost sounded erie, one guy shot over here another guy shot 1/2 mile away, another person shot in their car under an overpass. Then he moved on to the next town. Strange stuff. The US media sadly hasn't provided much coverage so far.
