I've been mattress shopping and upon going to Mattress Giant the saleslady pretended (I think) to call the district manager to get the "lowest price" possible. Then she offered to sell me a blemmed mattress which just has "a different colored seem or something" for a low price.
I went to another Mattress Giant to see what this guy would say. I was like "Ok no lies, just give me the lowest price". So he gave me a price which was higher than the woman at the other store calling the "manager". I told him the other store gave me a better price but it could possibly be a blem. So he than gets on the phone and calls "the district manager"...
Damn this nameless District Manager must always be right near the phone during lunch, dinner, coffee break, nap time. or whatever!!? And he answers in 2 rings or less...LMAO. Sorta reminded me of guitar shopping, you know blems and all that.
I know furniture is marked up but come on, just give me the damn price, I'm probably smarter than these people. It also reminds me of a time when my friend faked a phone call on my cellphone to call some girl, there was no call in the calllog.

Call 1800 Mattres and just low ball and low ball and low ball... they can't not lie, they are in the business of getting you to pay the most they can, not the least. I got a ridiculously low price from 1800 Mattres because I just wouldn't give in, no matter what they said, and if they tried to meet me in the middle then I went lower and said I'd go elsewhere because they were having a close-out. They have so much competition.

ETA: they can do customs, too... for people like Shaq.

I want a nice tall bed that's more like my perch to overlook my kingdom. But not a lame bunkbed, it's gotta be nice and big and pro. With available storage underneath.

Mattress retailers often advertise that they'll beat any other store's price on the same model. With few exceptions, though, you won't find the same model at another store, because the model numbers are customized for each store or chain. |

Buying a car should be like buying a mattress.
