Maui for nine days

Hey all, the wife and I are finally going on our honeymoon. We'll be on Maui for nine days. Just curious if anyone knows of a good place to catch some live music on the island that's not in a resort. We won't be too fussy about the genre, though we do like dancing to old school country. Thanks!

Any of the North Coast beach resorts have great live music often.

Check out Surfing Goat Dairy for a great morning and cheese tasting (the goats are so friendly they are like dogs lol). The wife and I went there for our honeymoon last April, best week of our lives!!!!

My nephew and his girlfriend have lived there for about 10 years now. One piece of advice they give to everyone visiting the island is to not go out by yourself. There is a lot of native gang crap going on there. He got mugged/beaten up a few years ago for no reason at all other than he's white.

+1, great place, and easy to tie in with a trip up Haleakala.

You could PM TB'ers Jerry and Marcus Johnson and ask them where they're playing. I really enjoyed seeing both of them.

I always have hung mostly on the North Shore ( five 10 day trips), but on the other side I dug the Sunday jazz jam at Canoes in Lahaina, and the beer at Maui Brewing. Oh, and the snorkeling.

Have fun!
