Only at the prep level.

Bad on the yellow team coach for not teaching his boys the definition of the term "snap."

Saw that on the news this morning Bill. The coach said a play or two before that one, they made that same defense get a penalty for off sides with another trick play.

A good lesson in alertness for the defense!

Feel free to correct me, but I believe a snap is defined as the center picking the ball off the ground and either handing or propelling it behind the line of scrimmage to a member of the backfield. Between the legs not required.

is this the spirit of the game? so much celebration of this worries me about the integrity of sport. what does it mean to "win" like that?

1) It was awesome!

2) They're in middle school, let 'em have some fun. I'm sure that even the other team was laughing at that... though it was probably after they got over the wtfness of the play, lol.

3) You can't deny the awesome.

It's a mind game too. In the video, there was one team forgetting this, instead of the usual two.

There isn't much integrity left of the sport. Especially at the upper levels(college/pro).

And the only thing it means to win like that to me is, there were 11 dummies on defense.

Let kids play ball. They obeyed the rules, and that IS the spirit of the game.

The play was ingenious, and I celebrate it.

God Bless, Ray

Exactly, it was awesome, fun, and not like it was for the Superbowl or something.

heh... ya... i have a feeling that if someone tries to pull that "cheekiness" at a higher level of competition that qb would immediately regret his decision by way of the front seven mauling him. it worked though!
