A sad night in my home. I finished off my last roll of wine gums. I have no immediate plans of returning to Victoria BC to buy some more. I am forced to go online and buy them now from some company in the USA taking full advantage of my desire to have more.
One site wanted $10 to ship me one bag and three rolls. What a scam!

-Mike | $10 for shipping? I can buy a few packages and ship them for less than that!
PM me your address and I'll throw some in the mail, all I ask for is a postcard in return. |

I was hoping to come visit your city again before 2008 expires, but it doesn't look good now. How is the weather in January? I'm sure it's damp and cold like it is down here. Do you get much snow in January?
We did high tea at a hotel right by where the passenger ferry comes in. It was right across the street. I was referred to it by some locals as they said it was much better and cheaper than the Empress. It was very good. Is high tea something they do year round, or just during the busy tourist season?

you from seattle? want to send me something back? like... grunge? i think high tea is all year, victorians have a big english pride thing going on. and i think most agree that the empress is a little overrated, despite how fond people are of it here (i'm a native vancouverite). |

I can't send you any grunge, we're pretty much out down here.
We took some pictures of the Empress, but did not go inside. We spent the day walking to the Craigdarroch Castle, and then around the main downtown area. We ate at some joint called Earls. What a waste of money. We did the high tea, checked out some of the street vendors, then listened to some music at a outdoor area that looked like maybe the town square. Good time overall, and we'll be back.

You should try out "Sports Mixture" they arent as good now that Maynards took them over (used to be Lions) but they are still ok. They just lack my favourite flavour

I also tried the ones with the juicy centre. No thanks on all those.
In this case, I am sticking with the OG. Nothing beats them.

The only thing I dont like about wine gums is that almost greasy feel they have. Hmm, could go buy some now, theres a shop just two minutes down the road
