If you search through reputable breeders you should be able to find a well bred, non show quality one for under $2000. They require care and upkeep. If you don't have time, consider another breed. Ours love to dig and with all the wrinkles, it's almost daily baths.

mutts have been proven to be healthier dogs in just about every aspect. Superiority of genetic diversity applies to humans as well. A pure bred dog is fundamentally the same as an inbred human, and those obviously don't turn out to be very amiable...

Needless to say, he didn't last too long before he had to be put down...
