I do genuinely hope you feel better though. I suffer sinusitis and bronchitis (2-3 infections per year, more as i get older). It sucks. |

Mucinex DM at night is decent, some type of methol oil, etc. Regular Mucinex during the day and prednisone is typically what most doctors use to control the symptoms. |

You need antibiotics.
You need to go to the hospital.

It was discussed on Oprah one time and since then, people in my family (including my wife) have pretty much eliminated all their sinus related problems with daily use. And, at the same time, reduced or eliminated the illnesses that had plagued them for years. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&c...ti+pot&spell=1
YMMV.
Btw, All the people I know that use the neti pot had previously visited their physicians, were on antibiotics at one time and basically tried everything that they were advised to do. All with minimal results.
For me, my sinus problems were related to allergies. I got a scratch and sub-dermal allergen test. Then started on allergy shots that used a serum based on what my testing showed. I had weekly shots for three years and at a certain point, my sinusitis dissipated about 95%. After the 3 years I took another round of testing and started with a new serum formula. All totalled, I've been receiving shots for about 4 years and breath freely through my nose nearly all the time. I have no post nasal drip and sleep very well since the swelling of my sinuses has nearly completely gone away.

I use Zyrtec and rhinocort everyday and it helps tremendously. a humidifier would probably help you also.

But seriously, I sympathize. I have the same trouble in the fall and spring. It always seems to start with a little cold and then the next thing you know I'm hacking up lung-butter for a month. Atibiotics will fix it. Some codeine cough syrup will help too. It won't really fix anything but you won't mind being sick so much
I quit smoking a few months ago so I'm hoping that will have a positive impact on my situation this fall.
Feel better dude.

I just started on a CPAP machine for Sleep Apnea and the hetaed humidified air has actually helped a lot so +1 on the humidifier.

I know this is going to sound really stupid but in my case, it's gospel. I used to get bronchitis every year, pneumonia, you name it. It always seemed to start in the sinuses and work it's way down. I went to the dentist once after a long long absence for a check up and cleaning, I got a long lecture at how improper dental hygiene can cause some really unexpected stuff.
I started flossing better, brushing more and I swear to god the yearly illnesses stopped dead in their tracks. This was about 3 years ago and I've been fine since. I dont think its coincidence

I also believe there's something to the extent that the vasculature in your gums drains directly into the heart somehow. LOL, I used to know, but it has been years since I've studied anything like that. |

I wont go into a long dissertation of how I know this, but it's very true. In fact, if someone has certain heart issues, dental work needs to be proceeded and followed by a course of antibiotics.

Adequate nutrition, moderate exercise, good sleep, etc.....pretty cheap, especially compared to the consequences. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
