Members of Dethklok based on real people?

Here's a photo of Dethklok from Metalocalypse:

Now, me and a few friends of mine were saying how some members of the band really look like real people in metal bands. For instance, Pickles, the drummer for Dethklok looks like Devin Townsend of Strapping young lad:

Toki Wartooth looks similar to Petr Tatgren of Hypocrisy:

(he's the one on the bottom right)

and this one's a little bit of a stretch, but we think it's close-Skwisgaar Skwigelf may be Alexi Laiho of Children of Bodom. Look:

Now as far as Murderface or Nathan Explosion goes, the jury's still out. I've heard George Corpsegrinder as Nathan, but Nathan has a neck. Any one else see the resemblance? Anyone have any ideas about Murderface or Nathan Explosion?

Murderface is Geezer Butler.

Nathan Explosion I believe is Danzig, but I'm not positive.

Tokie's by far the best character on that show.

Unfortunately, I have no idea who to compare everybody to.

Here, I'll help you out.

If you've never heard of Strapping Young Lad, you might know Devin from playing with Steve Vai on Vai's "Sex & Religion" album. He did the vox on it.

The other guys, well, if you don't know them, you probably won't.

I have a friend who swears that Toki is Fredrik Thorendal of Meshuggah.

Now i can see that. They look insanely similar, but Fredrik is more calm and humble looking than Toki.

I dont think they are based on anyone though IMHO.

C'mon...you have to admit that Pickles is almost a carbon copy of Devin. All the way down to them both being Canadian.

By his accent. It's definitely Canadian, even though he was supposedly raised in the Midwest. I guess they hit too close to home in the promo and were worried that they may get sued. And, if you notice the pic that you have linked, it's different than the promo pic. Look at the pic above in the first post.

dethklok voices and real members!!

Actual band

Current members
Brendon Small — vocals, guitars, bass guitar, keyboards (2006 - )
Gene Hoglan — drums (2007 - )
Touring members
Mike Keneally — guitar, backing vocals (2007 - )
Bryan Beller — bass, backing vocals (2007 - )

Brendon Smalls does the voices for Nathan Explosion, Skwisgaar Skwigelf, and Pickles. Tommy Blacha does the voices for Toki Wartooth and William Murderface. I just realized that you might have been talking about a completely different topic, if the characters looks were created to resemble real people, but I hope this information helps somebody as well! haha

Pickles: Describing the character, Small said, "I thought the drummer should be able to do a bunch of stuff, like Roger Taylor in Queen. Even though it's not based on his personality, it's what he can do in the band and what parts of the songs he does contribute to." He was raised in Tomahawk, Wisconsin and speaks with a Yooper dialect. He refers to himself as "very Irish American"

Skwisgaar's appearance is rumoured to be based on Danish power metal musician Tristan Peterson.

Toki: Mikael Åkerfeldt of progressive death metal band Opeth told Ultimate-Guitar.com that he received an email from Toki, which confirmed that his character borrowed Åkerfeldt's likeness.
