Is Metalocalypse Loosing Its Edge?

Don't get me wrong. I really did enjoy the show's first season. It pokes fun at the over the top mythology and theatrics of heavy metal while demonstrating real affection for the genre. It's also full of jokes that anyone who's ever been in a band can appreciate. The DethAlbum was great. Funny and authentic at the same time. It's even reminded me how much I love heavy music almost 16 years after high school. (It's still the best sound track for weight workouts.) There's now a Slayer channel in my Pandora list next to Django Reinhardt, Bootsy Collins, Art Tatum and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Soooo... I DVR'd and watched all of the Season I stuff in anticipation of new episodes. Now four episodes into the second season... I dunno. It's still funny, but it's like there's something missing. Is it just me?

The first few episodes were pretty weak, emphasizing violence over actual humor. The season got much better as it went on, but it still wasn't as good as the first season. Give us your impressions after watching the whole season.

Ah, good to know. You took the words right out of my mouth. It was more gore than the first season, but less wit. I'll let you know what I think after I've seen the rest.

Hit or miss, it's worth it to keep watching. You'll catch some good stuff, i love when Toki and Murderface collaborate on the "takin' it easy" song.

I still like it. I'm not sure which episode it was but it had Angela Gossow as one of the voices. I thought that one was funniest so far. Mostly due to Tokie.

The finale was epic. The episodes this time around were spotty, but I think overall I found them all right.
