I could easily eat Mexican food every day. Thankfully, So Cal does a good job of satisfying my cravings. |

Searched for (and couldn't find) a great comedy routine about the origins of Mexican food in America.
In a dark backroom, a group of Mexican cooks are plotting.
"Hey, I know, we can take all the same ingredients, arrange them a few different ways, give them all different names, and sell them to the Gringos over and over again for mucho dinero!"
Everyone nods in agreement.
All but one man, who solemnly stands and says "Amigos, that would be wrong. I can't agree to that".
The leader says "If you vote with us, Mr. Chimichanga, we'll name one of the dishes after you!"

Even the kinds people say aren't really mexican food. I love mexican food so much, our favorite place (my girl and I) gave us a gift certificate for a free dinner last xmas. Rancho Allegre on Garfield Place and 7th Ave. in Bklyn. I love Mexican food so much I consider Taco Bell mexican food, and eat it at least once a week. Because it's convenient. In Bklyn. NY I'm one up on everyone else in the world also when it comes to Mexican food, because I believe this is the only area (or at least it was a coupla yrs back) that has CHINESE mexican food. Which I also eat about once a week. It's chinese food places that also do fast food Mexican. Looks and tastes very little like mexican food, but they have tortillas, quesadillas, burritos... an entire mexican menu w a chinese edge to it. And chinese vegetables too.
I'll get pix of it all, but we're going to a thai place tonight. |
