I tripped and didn't down for about 10 hours. I rode it out, but if you weren't expecting it, that could have been really bad. I'm not a doctor, but I pretty sure you shouldn't take Penicillin for a head cold. |

-richard | Actually there are a lot of drugs out there that have been approved in Europe, but not to the stringent oversight of the FDA. Having worked U.K. company in the Pharmaceutical field, I also know that governments regulate how much a company can charge for medicine if they want to sell it in their country. There is a lot of lobbyist money going to our beloved senators from these companies to keep regulated pricing at bay. In the U.S., a lot of these Pharma companies spend more money on advertising then they do on some of the research, telling us stupid Americans how much we need this medicine.
Last time I was in England visiting family, the pharmacist could prescribe certain medications. |

As a pharmacist, I don't think I'd buy much from Mexico. My fake Oakleys lasted a few weeks before falling apart. There are entirely too many people aware of the American price gouging, thus they give "special" deals on drugs, most of which are made of nada...if you're lucky. Counterfeit drugs make much more money than the real ones.
Part of why the government regulates drugs so tightly is to keep everyone safe. Rampant use of antibiotics has lead to many resistant bugs. Get your stuff from a real doctor who tells you to go to a real pharmacist. |

Mostly "mejoralitos" for colds and junk like that. My cousin is a doctor though he went to school in America for a while. Medication is way cheaper in other countries than here. So is medical treatment.
Broke my leg a few years back, didn't have insurance, I was expecting a ridiculous high bill, but it was about 4,000 American. lol and they apologized for it being so high stating that it had to do with my private room while I was recovering from surgery.

the NHS in the UK have been pressing this issue for a few years now. It's common sense, but the public need educating, some people needlessly stockpile antibiotics like fluxacillin and pop themn when they have a cold. Bad idea. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
