First off, this isn't meant to be political in any way, but i do think it was totally hilarious that the The Roots played the Fishbone song "lyin a$$ b---h" when Michelle Bachmann was introduced last night. Fallon tweeted today that Questlove was grounded... hahaha!!
If this is too political, please close it..

Honestly, I think if the country wasn't so polarized and uptight right now we'd all have a good laugh but as it is the character attacks on politicians are so bad nowadays that I just can't laugh anymore...

And it has gotten so bad that we have people who don't even play bass coming in, posting solely in the off topic threads, over and over and over...obviously pushing their agenda. Maybe the mods agree with the political stance of that particular poster, so they let it go. These threads are an invitation for disaster. |

These threads are an invitation for disaster. | It's not that a thread is "political" or "non-political", it's that WE (collectively) cannot seem to even approach some subjects without some folks getting their panties in a bunch. I've seen the mods totally go with some threads regardless of any sort of political slant, simply because the discussion was respectful and mature. Problem is you'll always get some that cannot seem to participate in that way and they start crap. That's really all there is to it. It's not that politics/religion etc are bad, it's that some folks here (and elsewhere) are as predictable as diarrhea after bad Mexican food.

Beans give me a little gas, though not much compared to eggs or cheese, but they dont give me diarrhea. Quote:

I envy you, sir. | For one, I havent eaten food at 3am in so long that I couldnt tell you what it was. I think the last time I got the runs was from eating In N Out not long before bed. Diarrhea and I do not speak often and never long distance from mexico.

Clearly youve never met my ex-wife. | I never said that some women don't meet the criteria, I just think that it is a hurtful word that encourages misogyny. There are non-gender specific words that can be applied to female a-holes without stooping to the B-word.

I cant really think of a non-gender specific word that would be accurately applied in those instances. Is it a hurtful word, yes, so much as any foul word would be. Does it encourage misogyny, not in my opinion. I think the Seaward is much worse, and a more accurate description of a "hurtful word that encourages misogyny". YMMV, of course.
