Anyone snowed in? We have about 20" here in Herndon, VA and are expected to have snow continue into the night. Good time to play some music with the wifie.

Hope you have power. We lost power for a few hours last night about two. Back on now thank God. Still some 200,000 without power acording to the news. Also heard VA has declared a State Emergency and deployed the National Guard.

We are just south of you and wondering if this will ever end.

Glad to hear your power is back on. Fortunately, we've had no problems. We do have a fireplace and "TONS" of wood in case that's the only way to stay warm. I'll try and post some photos. Last time I was on Photobucket, I had a difficult time finding where to upload photos, which I've done thousands of times before.

A little over a foot of snow in southern New Jersey so far, wind gusts up to 45 mph. HEavy, heavy snow. We've got a lot of BIG tree limbs on the ground as a result, and a lot that are bending downward so far it won't take much for them to snap. Luckily, so far no damage to house or roof; I think there was enough snow already on roof when branches started coming down that it helped protect the roof. Won't know for sure for another week or so; prediction is another snow storm on its way due to arrive Tues or Weds. We lost power for a short time last night but came back on (thanks undoubtably to the power crews out there working in the nasty weather.) Govenor has declared snow emergency which means you aren't supposed to go out driving in the stuff, but from what I hear already quite a few people ignored warnings and have gotten stuck, in accidents, etc. Glad I did my food shopping back on Thursday; and as both hubby and self are seasonal workers and our work places are closed for the winter we don't have to worry about trying to get to work, etc.

White stuff out there is real pretty, but it has its down side. I just hope the roads and stuff are cleared out enough by Monday that we can get out and run some errands that need to be run. Guess we'll see.

OK, here we go. These were taken at 9:30 this morning and it's expected to continue snowing until late this evening. We've got about 20" and 20 mph winds.

Earth is going upside down, not warming up. We haven't had a single storm this big this winter. Usually, we average 3-4 of these.

There's no fluffy snow and it's lukewarm outside

Heh. I've been here in southern New Jersey since 1992, and this winter we've already had more snow since the beginning of December than we had in all the winters prior to this one...with more snow predicted.

I'm supposed to be going down to Tennessee to visit friends and relatives starting 18 Feb - but if we're still getting lots of snow, I think I'll be cancelling or at least rescheduling the trip.

We got 16'', and 24'' in spots.. And its just about done, but its still drizzling snow. Its scary. Power lines are sagging from all the snow and ice, boots dont work as snow just funnels into them, and traveling is basically only an idea.

Its crazy, thats for sure.

Yeah, Detroit has ben the same way. We've ben plenty cold, but no white stuff. But Northern MI, has had plenty of the White stuff. All of the big storms have gone south and a bit east of us.

We've got about 8 inches of the thick heavy stuff. It's barely coming down at this point, but even with our driveway shovelled i'm not getting out of my neighborhood anytime soon.

The worst part; despite having snow that just about buries my tires, I still have to go into work today.

I'm in Herndon, VA. This is more snow than Dec 19, which was 30". Going to have to take it slow on the shoveling tomorrow. Like someone said earlier, these are the things that cards and heart attacks are made of.

we have about 10" here in central Jersey from the looks of it.
I'll take a walk out back and in the woods later and take some pics.
