Everyone survive OK?

My city is underwater, again. I dodged the big bullet, but not sure I would have if it would have been the foot higher that they predicted. I evacuated most of my gear from the basement last night. Kitties room became the ax refuge...

I'm glad you're safe. Flood damage is about as bad as it gets.
My familoy and I managed to dodge a tornado or two early Monday morning ourselves!

We're still way too cold up here in South Dakota to worry about flooding. People are bitching about why it doesn't get warmer but I'm actually glad it's happening gradually (35- to 38-degree highs instead of 50 or 55), cause we've had a lot of snow this winter and all that water has to go somewhere.

Cape closed the floodgates and is keeping them shut until the flood warning is lifted. Since my neighborhood is one of the highest points in the city and we're not supposed to get any rain until Saturday I should be fine. I'll snap a pic of the water level if I can when I find a way over the wall.

We got it bad here too (same area as Tim). Some of the cars at one of the local colleges were completely underwater in a parking lot.

That's pretty flippin cool! It doesn't look like much has changed, but I've only lived here for a year and a half and will move once I'm done with my masters so I can't really comment on the difference. If the floodgates are open I'll snap a picture of the flood lines.

A lot of that's going to be coming our way... hoping this isn't a repeat of '97! My house is in a high enough part of Winnipeg that overland flooding isn't a worry, but sewer backup is always a possibility.

Cleveland got it pretty good. One dam burst, and a lot of people got the "basement swimming pool".

Hey Winnipeg... quit sending us down that damn cold air!

March 2 and it was -2 (F) when I drove to work today. Seriously...

Blame Alaska. That's where it's coming from. Well, maybe Russia before that!

P.S. -25C right now as I type this! I would LOVE it if it was -2F!

Edit: Here, I found some evidence...

How's the scene in Winnipeg these days?

I was there about 25 years ago when my high-school class took our "Senior Skip Trip" up there. Nice town. It was my first (and so far only) Canadian exposure.

Pretty decent, there are tons of fantastic players here and quite a few places to play. It keeps my busy - I make my living (such as it is) playing music here, though I keep telling people I've been trying to get out of the music business for 10 years! (my daughter turns 10 this year)

I just finished my M.A. in September, so who knows, maybe I really will get a real job after all this time... I've never really done anything else since finishing high school (in 1990) so it will be a challenge.
