The Mighty Boosh and Adult Swim (Editing???)

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been watching The Mighty Boosh these past few months and sometimes I re-watch episodes online and I have noticed that it's different then when it's shown on Adult Swim. At least I'm pretty sure it's different. Scenes are longer, there's extended conversations on things, and I'm wondering why AS would bother to cut them out.

Has anybody else noticed this or is it just all in my head?

Also, how many other people here LOVE the show? When I saw the commercials for it I thought that it was the stupidest thing ever, but once I started watching it I couldn't stop. It's amazing!

Apparently! One of these days I guess I'll have to buy the Mighty Boosh box set.

Boosh is brilliant.

i saw Julian Barratt at that bar at a gig - he is indeed very tall with small eyes.

i dunno, sometimes programmes get re-edited in different countries etc. note sure why there would be 2 versions going around.

Most cable networks have longer commercial breaks, so some content needs to be cut.
Also, it varies from network to network. 1/2 hour of NFL network programming has 22:17 content, ESPN has 23:00

They took Adult Swim off of my basic cable plan, and my dad wont let us upgrade to realy cable..

So, no more Boosh.. Family Guy.. American Dad.. Superprison.. I almost cried. Only TV I ever watched was Adult Swim right before bed.

Boosh is brilliant. It took me a couple episodes to "get it", but after that I was hooked. I agree that the reason for the edits probably was to fit more commercials into the allotted time slot.

The British are smart enough to limit advertising in television. Great TV show.

Wow I'm surprised on how many TB'ers are Boosh fans.
I've been a fan for roughly 3 years, and at first I thought it was really lame/not funny.
Then I got the Boosh bug

Glad to see a lot of appreciation for the Boosh!

this is correct, The Boosh is a BBC production, which is effectively owned by the state. Everyone who owns a television, or has access to live television broadcasts has to pay an annual licence fee, which funds the BBC. We also have a number of commercial channels that are run independently. The BBC has no external advertising, it is supposed to remain completely impartial, no commercial ties and no political party affiliation, it does get sticky sometimes if people are promoting their product on a show or something, or something is inadvertently mentioned, for instance it is the done thing to say mp3 player rather than ipod, or vacuum cleaner in stead of hoover and other things like that.

but back to the topic,

Noel Fielding is imho, i genius!

They're all really great- Rich Fulcher is a fantastic counterpoint to the other two.

Beyond that, why on earth wouldn't you buy the DVDs?

^A youtube clip of that character was what originally turned me on to the Boosh, funnily enough.

the mighty boosh is ridiculously awesome.

"I've always wanted to go out to a little slap bass, but I don't suppose you could make that happen"

"Are you kidding me? Why do you think i've got this thumb?"
