Fox News' Tucker Carlson says "Vick should have been executed for his role in the dogfighting case"

Quote:
Fox analyst Tucker Carlson says Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick "should have been executed" for his role in a dogfighting ring.

Carlson was guest hosting for Sean Hannity's show Tuesday night on Fox News Channel when he made the remarks. He led a panel discussion about President Barack Obama commending the owner of the Eagles for giving Vick a second chance after his release from prison.

Vick served 18 months in federal prison for running a dogfighting ring.

Carlson says, "Michael Vick killed dogs, and he did [it] in a heartless and cruel way."

Carlson added, "I think personally he should have been executed for that."

Carlson, a conservative commentator, is angry that Obama told Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie he believes people who have paid for their crimes should have the opportunity to contribute to society again.

I agree completely. He's throwing Vick under the bus just to get a shot in at Obama.

No doubt. I also haven't heard his name in a few years, this may be a plea for attention.

To clarify, this was directed at the author, not OP. Vick committed his crimes, paid the price, and is doing his best to atone for it. While this doesn't undo the damage that's been done, change the fact that he's nothing more than a petty thug, or negate the fact that he knowingly did something that cruel, at least he's doing everything he can to make up for it.

As for the Obama thing, sure, he needs to learn to keep his mouth shut publicly on stuff that doesn't concern him, but Obama is still human and entitled to his own opinions.

Some of Tucker Carlson's bowties should make him eligible for capital punishment.

Tucker's a pundit. His job is to be butthurt over anything the opposing party does or says. Such is in the job description of the political pundit, regardless of what side of the fence he or she is on.

And yeah, the Daily Show always seems to be on vacation when the best events are taking place.

Why does the guy have two last names? I'm used to people with two first names, but two last names? Come on.

While I do not agree with many of Carlson's views, I will say though that that man has an amazing taste in bowties.

Some people will never be able to get over what he did - some people are such strong animal lovers they will never forgive him, and that's understandable. For me, he's apologized, has kept his nose clean, and has paid his debt to society - as long as he stays out of trouble, he is redeemed in my eyes.

My name is Mark Eric Terry.

I have 3 First names, don't be jealous.

Also, I agree with what Jr said. I believe to the core of my being in redemption and in second chances. After all, this is America, a country founded and made great by immigrants looking for a second chance at living the way they wanted to.

I feel that what happened to those dogs at Vick's hands to be despicable, and completely beyond the bounds of anything that I would consider to be acceptable human behavior, and would probably have shot him had he done that to my dog. That being said, he has paid what society has deemed an acceptable punishment for his crime, and he seems to be remorseful for what he had done, and seems to be a different and better person. Of course this is all hearsay, so I can't say anything definitively one way or the other, but I think that he should have the chance to redeem himself.
