Do you think that is due to the influence of the many bike companies and apparel based out of mpls?

QBP and T6 come to mind but not sure if they have any influence on trail networks build and maintenance.

Also not sure what the criteria was to be on that list - Lincoln's trails are much better than Omaha's (that is on the list).

Something obviously so delusional it excludes the concept of WINTER.

you'd be surprised how many people have studded tires on their bikes here in the winter. in fact they plow the bike paths before the roads in alot of places.

i could drive 25 minutes or 13 miles to work or take an hour to ride 14 miles with over 75% of it dedicated to bike paths with lakes and nice parks to ride by

to bad i only ride when it's nice out. if i knew more about bike maintenance i would commute more than 1-2 times per week

You're right, I would be, but it's still not San Diego.

I don't think I'm alone in thinking that bike riding's #1 prerequisite for most humans who have a choice is weather.

But it does seem that brutal heat is a deterant. San Fran, Portland, Seattle and Minn. all run cool.

I suppose this means I should get a bike--once i get some money I want to buy a bike so I can ride my bike to work--it would actually be faster for me than driving!
