Just wondering how many TBers in Minnesota are aware of this. Co-worker of mine originally from there, says that with the impending govt. shutdown etc. that brewers who don't get their license renewals processed in time will have product taken out of their inventories. Miller products in particular are at risk and would actually be removed from store shelves and bars.
Seems to me this could be a huge blow to bar business which in turn, could impact future bookings for bands in that area if not dates that are already on the books. As a member of a band with some dates booked in Western Minnesota later this year I will be watching this situation closely. http://www.startribune.com/politics/...125490398.html
Anyone?

That would suck big time, I gig about 2-3 times a month and would suck due to this gov debacle we have going on. I play original music so the venues are limited already.

OTOH, as a musician whose cover band clients derive probably 60-75% of their revenues from the sale of MillerCoors products, it concerns me a great deal. |

I do hope, however, that any decent microbrews are unaffected as well as the bar playing bands in the area.

I'm willing to call most of their products beer unless it's labeled as "light" or "lite".

-Mike | They sent in payment for their license, but sent in too much so a bureaucrat sent it back. When they sent in the correct amount, the bureaucrat told them it had lapsed, and the govt shut down that night. So Sorry, not my problem la la la la la la Our elected clowns SUCK!!!!

Slightly bummed it wasn't Budweiser. I agree Miller is horse piss, but at least they're not attacking microbreweries the way Bud does. |

Yeah, the domestics are mostly horse piss, but if Miller is horse piss,
then Bud is the piss of the amoeba in the horse's piss.

When I feel like being a gutter punk I'll buy that to remind myself of my poorer days.

Most breweries relish the idea of being in as many states as possible. I've had a few Spotted Cow and would love to try more. |
