does anyone paint miniature figures? I'm talking soldiers, small animals, warhammer (40k) any small figures.
i've painted warhammer fantasy armies for over 10 years now. I never play the game, I only enjoy the hobby aspect of it.
I don't really have a good enough camera to capture the detail of my miniatures, but once I do, i'll post some. |

| | | | I painted Mephiston once in a school art class. That was my only experience with figurine painting. As I recall, it looked pretty good.

Used to work for Grenadier Models as a professional figure painter, then a sculptor. Haven't painted for a good while, hoping to get back into it, as soon as I can get off my lazy behind and clear off my work desk. Bought a bunch of expensive new brushes and a complete set of Vallejo paints a couple of years ago, and they're pretty much just sitting there and I have a bunch of unfinished Talisman figs that need done, (and a whole ton of other figs waiting in the wings as well)

Never played the game either, just found the painting very relaxing. I substituted it with reed making since for me, it was more practical. Both great hobbies to have.

Star Demon (my name for him):
Giant Spider:
Giant mechanical scorpion:
Grim Leaper (Demon):
Currently, these and other sculpts of mine are being produce by Perth Pewter. (if anybody cares, LOL)
BTW, sorry I don't have any pics of these painted. Wish I did.

| | | | I used to be into the games workshop thing - to be honest, I got out of it when I discovered playing bass. I dunno, bass just got me out of the house and hanging out with other people, I will admit though, sometimes I do play the odd game with a friend, I do own dawn of war - among some of their other video games - and I do like the backstory.

I'm not single any more, but I still pick up the brush on the odd rainy afternoon.

In the last couple of years a few friends of mine started again, just as a time killer. I rumaged around my parents attic, found some old supplies, got a few mini's and did some painting. Was never an amazing painter but the skills haven't gone too much. Don't think I'd ever get fully into it again, though I have watched my mates having a game with a few beers after the pub one night.

Marine from my Black Templar army. | Looks really good. I've only painted a couple Space Marines, never really painted too much 40k. I'd like to though.
When I was young I had a formidable Lizardmen army (lots of pewter) then again after college I started a Dwarf army but got out of it again after I got into a band. I know i'll pick it up again some day. Maybe when I retire haha |

Favorite one I had was my Irish Medieval army. All the way from the King and attendants, to Lords and down to peasants. Had U.S. Civil war in 3 scales, Revolutionary War, Early Egyptian, Hannibal, Boer, WWI air and ground, WWII air and ground, Roman, Frankish, early Chinese, British India, some fantasy and probably more that I can't remember. Oddly enough I never did Napoleonic Era.
