Anyone can have a good education and still sound ignorant.

That's how it sounds to me.

BTW, "ignorant" doesn't mean "stupid". It means:

1. Lacking education or knowledge.
2. Showing or arising from a lack of education or knowledge: an ignorant mistake.
3. Unaware or uninformed.

None of these are a compliment to the speaker.

Probably because it's been "Americanized." In other words, if enough people say it a certain way it becomes right/acceptable. Is it an Italian word that we appropriated?

Yes, AFAIK the original words comes from Italy in the early 1900s.

I think I've gotten over being "driven crazy" by the way someone pronounces something but I do notice it.

These don't drive me crazy but here are some words that I've noticed people commonly mispronounce because they just don't know the correct pronunciation. Maybe you will learn something:

bruschetta is not "broo-shetta". It's "bru-sketta"
Ubuntu is not "you-bun-too" it's "oo-BOON-too". That can be found in their user documentation.
Teva (the brand of river sandals and flip-flops) is not "TEE-va" it's "TEH-vah"

yeah, espresso is Italian and yeah I believe "expresso" is in the dictionary due to constant mispronunciation to the point where I've seen cafes that serve "expresso" on their menu.

Pronounciation varies from region to region.

The one thing that drives me crazy is the misuse of their, there, and they're in the written English.
Let's go over their
It's there house
Their not home

I believe it's because it is actually spelled differently in Europe...I think they spell it "aluminium" over there.

I think he's pointing out that we have two different spellings AND pronunciations on different sides of the pond.
