I'm sure by now you've all heard/read about the Air France flight that has gone missing from Brazil.
It's been reported that the flight moved out of Brazil's radar contact range shortly after passing the Fernando de Noronha archipelago.
Having never heard of these islands before, I decide to fire up Google Earth and take a look at them. A lovely looking little corner of the world, to be sure; but a lot of the user photos are now including comments regarding the Air France flight.
Some are innocent enough; "AF flight 447 last known location," "R.I.P. AF 447," etc; but some of them are... questionable, to say the least.
The first odd one I saw could be innocent, but it still raised an eyebrow: "F.N. - Ruinas no Air France." http://www.panoramio.com/photo/6789626
But there are/were others, like: "Ha! No Air France plane here!" "AF447-Come out, come out wherever you are!" "Not aeroplaine(sic)-try again!"
I say "were" because apparently I'm not the only Google Earth user reporting these as offensive; some of these pics are being pulled pretty quickly.
Good to know that this kind childish insensitivity is a worldwide phenomenon.

Really hope that airplane and people turn out.

This air France flight is not looking good. Too bad life isn't like Lost. We can only hope survivors wound up safely on some deserted island.

Most of it is for attention, a sort of "hey look at me! look at me!!' type deal. Apparently insensitivity is cool these day or something.
Reality, life and responsibility will eventually come crashing through their window and they'll (hopefully) grow up.
At any rate, this crash is a real tragedy. The only thing to hope for at this point is that they died quickly and without too much suffering....sucks..

I wonder if they consider themselves proud or not.

I wonder if they consider themselves proud or not. | There is nothing proud about the Maki, as a matter of fact, the Maki acts almost like a black hole to pride, if you get too close, it sucks all the surrounding pride into it, never to be seen again...

Let's not also forget that I have pictures to prove this phenomenon when it happened to you. |

400 something passangers all dead.
What a shame..
I was only told this though so my facts might not be straight.

If it has a large debris field then it disintegrated in flight. The news is saying the debris trail is over three miles long so it looks like it ripped apart before going down.
Sad....

They will almost certainly find the FDR (Flight Data Recorder, aka "black box", which is actually screaming safety orange), from that and whatever debris they are able to recover, we will eventually know what happened....not that it will be any solace to the families left behind....
