This summer/autumn im going to travel the mighty mississippi by kayak. Im going to make a documentary about the trip, for Norwgian tv. Any fellow tbers who live close to the river? ..if so. Are you interested in meeting and perhaps say a few words about you and your town, city, farm, pueblo to me and my camera? |

Ok, sorry, Im no where near the Mississippi.

I spent a few weeks one summer early 80s between Saint Paul and where it was docked somewhere north east of Cedar Rapids Iowa. It was one of the coolest summers of my youth. We started from NJ via car to Niagra Falls, west through Canada and around the north side of the Great Lakes and down through Minnesota to Iowa. We spent a week on the family farm near Cedar Rapids and ended with the river trip. We left days after school ended and made it back just in time to start again that fall.
The generation of Family I was connected with have all since passed and I really don't know any of the distant cousins |

I doubt you can just hop ashore and pitch a tent. |

Unfortunately, I now live about 1000 miles east-northeast of there now.
Sounds like a great trip, one that I've actually considered a time or two. Enjoy!
