Here is your clearing house for any and all smacktalk as we roll into the postseason. To begin:
At this writing the Rays haven't named a Game one starter. After taking a look at the Ranger lineup, I don't think it'll matter........ Go Rangers!!!

1. Davis
2. Shields
3. Hellickson
There's no need for any more games.
EDIT: Matt Moore, vaunted rookie, who threw 5 scoreless innings in his only start, will start game 1.

| | | I wish...and if I was in south Philly today, I would be hitting Primo's or Nick's for a pre-game meal.
Teams that barely make the playoffs (like the Cards & Rays) are already in "playoff mode". The Rays looked like the '27 Yankess yesterday. I am concerned the Phils may also run into a buzz saw.

Personally, I don't have a dog in the Texas-Tampa Bay series: Texas beat us up in the beginning of the year and Tampa at the end. Moreover, I can't be angry at Tampa Bay, they probably did the Red Sox a favor by exposing a franchise that was way more dysfunctional and tone-deaf from top to bottom than I realized.
I'm rooting for the Brewers since my wife is from Milwaukee and is a former member of the True Blue Brew Crew. I've settled on Detroit as my AL representative - that city could use a break and even though the Red Sox only had him for a little while, it was long enough to appreciate how good a player Victor Martinez is and what a class act he is.
The Yanks look a little rusty, it was almost like their regulars have had a long layoff and started to kick back and are having a hard time getting back into the swing of things.
Verlander is just nasty - 100 MPH in the 8th inning .

Yanks bats seem to be picking up again...and defensively, Granderson gets those two big webgems to keep the Tigers tamed | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
