Unhappy Mods are scary

Sign in to disble this ad
Every time one takes part in a thread I sit up straight and put my serious face on... and I don't know why.

It's exactly the same as when I got pulled over the other day by the cops for a random breath test. I was s***scared.

Who else feels the same?

Now I'm scared that they might close this thread... and give me a warning...

I'm gonna go hide in the corner now.

oh, I know, I'll make a thread that is practically against forum rules.

Play nice, like a good semi-adult and you have no reason to be scared...use this site as a reason to spew nonsense, unchecked innuendo and swears, you'll get booted...simple. Self control man, self control.

after receiving infractions, warnings and even being banned for a day I know exactly how you feel.

I love you, John Turner.

So was I. But you have a point, mods like him are what makes this site great, without them it'd be like ultimate-guitar.com or something.

I used to think he had a scary, almost bully like image (not in the least because of his avatar ). But through a recent thread and the JB incident, I've come to realize that he's doing a great job plus he really knows the deal about managing a forum site and all the myriad strings that come attached with it.

I think it's not too hard to maintain a little bit of decency while posting. If you do that and avoid jumping into a potential tinderbox of a thread (some of these do pop up from time to time and lots of sane guys end up doing stupid impulsive things), you'll be fine and dandy!

If you're not doing anything wrong, there's nothing to be nervous about.

Australia, cops are everywhere... I don't think they have much to do really, so they pull you over and test your breath. Talk about a waste of taxpayers' money. Do they not have that in the USA?

Yeah but I don't know when I'm doing something wrong, real life etiquette is totally redundant when transposed onto the internet.

The rules are fairly comprehensive, IMO. You can do anything if you don't violate them.

I have found it pretty easy to read the rules of the forum and follow them. There have been times when I have bumped up against the lines, but it helps a lot to know where the lines are.

Pacman is scary. I can picture him sharpening a katana in the crack of a stone gargoyles arse while nodding his head with a evil smile and demonic glint in his eye while thinking..."yesssss, oh yesss another political thread...I shall smite, I shall."

Oh shoot!! I almost forgot the smiley!! whew! that was close
