Moon and Jupiter close together in the southern hemisphere sky!
 

This is the Moon and Jupiter (according to Google Sky Map) tonight in the southern hemisphere sky.

Just felt like sharing.

Wish my camera was better so it'd be sharper!

Thanks for the info ! I commented to my wife and Mom last night that the moon looked like it had a moon.

It's called a conjunction, when two bodies in the Solar System are close to each other. I saw it last night, it certainly was a sight to behold!

makes me think of that photoshopped picture of 3 planets aligning over the pyramids.

Nice, I didn't know if it could be seen in the north hemisphere too, but it did!

According to one of those astronomy sites (can't remember which) jupiter will be close to the moon again on dec 25th

Pretty neat - I wondered what "star" that was that was so close by. Thanks for sharing!
