I'm not surprised the kids giggled...they are kids. However that should have been an opportunity to teach kids about the alternate meaning of the word.

It doesn't say how old the kids are. Regardless of age though I agree he should have just explained the "older" meaning of the word gay. Honestly though if the kids keep giggling he should have just not had them sing the song, I find it hard to believe there is a mandate on which songs kids have to sing.

Really. When I was in school, the teachers were all deputy disciplinarians.

I spent a lot of time in detention....
