It's very important to note that most of these companies are likely either going to be acquired and have their names disappear or (in BP's case) broken up--most are not going under. This kind of thing happens all the time.

Around here they're brilliantly outselling half of their competitors.

I'm with both of yall.
Kia and T-Mobile are the 2 of all those who would survive. |

Did you read about T-mobile? They have to compete with Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint. All these companies will soon be on a 4G network. T-mobile has no 4G provider, they'll fade away fast in the 4G market for sure.

-Mike | Its okay, they'll just end up working at the Quiznos next door. Then they can work the bland green polos.

I'm not familiar with a lot of the other companies tho.
I hope BP doesn't go under, and I'm not sure what would happen if it split into smaller companies. Sadly BP is a huge part of the UK economy :-\ .

Zales
Readers Digest
Blockbuster
Dollar Thrifty
T-Mobile
Moody's
BP
Radio Shack
Merrill Lynch
Kia Motors |

| | | | Radio Shack is a strange one.
I have long thought that their time had come and gone (you can get 99% of their inventory for cheaper at Walmart or Home Depot).
However, last month I needed a nine volt connector for my bass, and RS was the only place locally I could find them.
But I can't imagine their business model is set up for these sporadic purchases.
I didn't know Zales or Readers Digest were even around anymore. |

I just can't see Kia going anywhere though

So many people hate sprint with a passion that they go to tmobile (that's why I switched.) T mobile customer service is better than any service provider i've ever used (ATT and Sprint)

A vast majority of its pages is filled with pharmaceutical advertising, with 3-4 pages of side effects of those drugs. When there is content, it is of poor quality, and of a reading level suited for children at best. It seems the primary goal is now to induce fear into retirees and overly protective mothers about the awful woes of the world. If I wanted this insipid garbage, I would read it for free online. Quality, circulation, & money down. I think I can predict where this goes. |

| | | I used to go to the library after lunch and listen to the Readers Digest.
Kia is a division of Hyundai; so, they might just elmininate the Kia brand name and continue the models under the Hyundai brand name. |

As for Radio Shack... a top executive from the company I work for left us to take a position with them. And he's the smartest businessman I've ever met. So I wouldn't bet against them, either. |

Dollar Thrifty, which is a car rental company.

Agreed that rental car companies are up against it. It's become such a PITA to fly anywhere that people are just gonna start saying the hell with it and as the airlines go, so generally does the rental car biz. It's to the point where unless you're flying halfway across the country or more, you might as well drive your own car on a lot of these trips vs. flying and renting. It's cheaper, much less hassle and you know you will actually get to your destination on time, with all your luggage.
In fact I'm very surprised not to see at least one airline on that list.
