Most overrated food/beverage

Sign in to disble this ad
Another food thread here. Title says it all, I think. What's the food/beverage that you've had high expectations about and then you have been really disappointed when you had it on the table in front of you?

I'll start:

Food - Oysters, especially raw. The only time I've had it (in Brussels), it was just a slimy soft thing that tasted like sea water. I rather eat the cheapest mussels you find in the stores - they taste more and better. Smoked oysters are on the other hand OK.

Beverage - Campari. It just taste awfully. Some people really enjoy it, but I can't get what's so nice that red liquid. Especially on its own.

Continue.

I agree with chocolate. And I'll also say any type of dessert. I'm not a dessert person, besides the occasional smoothie or milkshake (do those count?).

Love chocolate. Love beer. Love Pesto. Like Jägermeister. But those oysters were my biggest culinary disappointment to this date.

All forms of "girly" mixed drinks. Pretty much any drink with sugar.

Pineapple. What a vile thing. Not a fan of cherries either.

Jager....gotta agree there, although it is kind of traditional to do Jagerbombs with Tim when I go see Tim Cole's band.
