Motorcyclists: I need to know this.

Is there any communication device, such as a Bluetooth headset, that has been specifically designed to work within the constraints of your helmet?

I am referring to a built-in system of sorts. That is, if it exists already.

If it exists, do you use it? Is it illegal?

If it doesn't, would you want one?

Your comments are appreciated!

Looks like they've been done since '04. I found this on a quick google:

Wow! I guess you're right.

But would you use it?

I wouldn't. For the same reason that I
don't use my MP3 player when I ride.
I like the relative quiet of riding.
Nothing but the engine and the wind.
But that's just me.

Nope.

Don't need or want music or phone calls when I'm out on the bike. Might look at that differently if I used the bike for long motorway trips, but I'd sooner take a car for those kind of journeys.

Also don't really like the idea of having anything in my helmet other than my head, particularly lumpy boxes of electronics.

Phones are too distracting. If you are worried about communicating with other riders, that is quite easy with hand signals and what not. I do listen to my Ipod, but I usually take some longs rides.

The helmet to helmet systems are handy. As long as you keep the chat to a minimum while your riding. It's cool because when you get off the bikes, people don't know you're talking to each other
