Movies which disturbed you when you were young!

Ok I was in another thread and I just thought of this.

When I was little there were some movies/TV shows that really screwed with my head.

Lost in Space.
Some of the space monsters/creatures they encountered were truly disturbing. If you were an adult watching it you probably would not of gotten it. The only thing I could compare it to would be a bad acid trip. Attached is a picture of one of them. What were they thinking?

Barbarella.
My dad and Step-mom brought me and my sisters to go see this when I was about 8 or 9. Most of the movie is dorky, but that scene where she gets trapped with those dolls freaked me out. I never looked at a doll the same way again.

Night Gallery.
Enough said.

The Exorcist.
Once again I was about 9 or so. I never saw this as a little kid but I remember the commercials for it on TV. Not cool at all, it was enough to make me run out of the room, it scared the crap out of me.

These are just a few, I probably blocked out some, lol.

For some reason the movie Alien (the one from Ridley Scott) did, I kept having nightmares of weird looking heads coming out of bodies and coming after me.

The 'tongue stuck to the pole' scene in Dumb and Dumber. Whenever my brother and I would watch the movie, I'd end up sitting at the top of the stairs with my ears covered when the scene came.

When I was 16-years-old a group of us watched The Exorcist (VHS) in my friend's parent's basement. During the whole movie we laughed at the special effects, and dialogue (me included).

Later that night, while getting ready for bed...I realized I was spooked. I wasn't able to sleep with the light off for three days.

I laugh now, because it was SO cheesy !!! It was a OLD B movie that had a brain that flew after people and killed em. It was SO cheesy you could see the string it dangled from. The brain had cilia hanging from it and it freak me the eff out. Not sure what it's called now.

Another that got me was such a tree hugger movie ... I tried to watch it not long ago and failed in the attempt. Silent Running just made my chest hurt when the final scene rolled ... I was just devastated and struck with the incredible loneliness of the moment.

I watched the Wizard some decades after seeing it as a kid and during the opening scenes I started to experience nausea.

I'll jump on the Wizard of Oz bandwagon. The scene where Dorothy throws water on the Wicked Witch and she melts. That was some $h!t.

Yes! This movie freaked me out when I was a kid. I first saw it on one of those early pay movie channels, ON-TV.

The Exorcist also scared the **** out of me.

Poltergeist. I was so young when I saw that (maybe around 9 yrs old) and I had a tree outside of my window that made shadows and scraped against the glass just like the tree in the movie that ultimately dragged the kid away. I would lay awake some nights petrified just staring at that tree limb shadow.

Just thought of another one. This one actually made me sleep a certain way and gave me nightmares. Again, I don't remember the name of it. I used to sneak downstairs as a kid in the middle of the night and watch T.V. I was then, and am still, an insomniac. It was about a couple that moved into a house that was reputed to be haunted or some such. I recall little beings living under it. The end of the show had a gal who took sleeping pills ( I think ) and was dragged from the bed and into a closet where there was a hole that fell to ... somewhere. He husband ( or boyfriend ) was just a tick too late to catch her before she fell. The end of the movie had her voice talking about where she was ... it freaked me out. I slept with my sheets and blankets so tight it was nutty.

I remember once when I was about 25 I went on one of those gambling cruises where you go out 20 miles from the coast so it is ok to gamble. Anyway they had a vetriloquist there and when I stepped on board he stopped me and the dummy started asking me questions. I froze, I just looked at that damn dummy looking at me. I actually had to snap myself out of it.

If dummies freak you out then watch the movie Devil Doll. You can actually see it for free on Google video. Has some very creepy scenes. Creepy creepy creepy.
