movies you didn't know even had a sequel

So when I was a teeanger in the late 80s/early 90s, I absolutely LOVED Best of the Best 1 and 2 (Eric Roberts). I remember later on in the mid 90s or so they made a Best of the Best 3 without Eric Roberts, but kept the Phillip Ray character (who was a pretty great martial artist, btw). So today I am no Netflix and lo and behold... they ACTUALLY MADE A PART 4. I am in shock. I never knew. Totally... no idea. So I am watching the first 3 minutes of part 4, and it looks like a horrible, straight to VHS piece of trash that has absolutely nothing to do with the original movie (not that the 3rd one did either... but the 3rd one had the drill sgt from Full Metal Jacket in it, and that counts for something).

So anyway, this ever happened to anyone here?

Beverly Hills Cop III. I couldn't believe I didn't know about it when it came out 17 years ago. Then I saw it a couple months ago. Holy crap was it horrible.

Trust me. To be viewed ONLY if you really want to throw away 1.7 hours of your life on something tedious and oddly infuriating.

Same goes for Starship Troopers 3.

For many years I didn't know the Jack Nicholson classic, Chinatown, had a sequel named The Two Jakes. I actually did see that sequel eventually, but then forgot again for years that it was a sequel to Chinatown... I'll have to watch it again to decide if I like it, but a young Meg Tilly was memorable. I'll give HER that.

Behind Enemy Lines...TWICE!

First there was an incident in Korea where *GASP!* HE GET'S LEFT BEHIND ENEMY LINES! And then there was one set in Columbia. Both sequels were straight to DVD releases.

The Possesion of Joel Delainey certainly deserved a sequel. Frank Sinatra was way too drunk during the original.

Troll 2.

Now a cult masterpiece. Very stand alone and really Nothing to do with the film Troll if indeed there is a film called troll.

You will be shocked... there are no trolls in this film... and the director bought the right to call it Troll 2 because he believed it would lend credibility to the project...

Here's a reverse version...

Evil Dead 1 and 2 are pretty much throw-away. Army of Darkness (#3 in the series) is a HOOT!!

Army of Darkness is funny the first time, but the first 2 are classics! There's a reason why Evil Dead: The Musical only briefly mentions A.o.D.
