Mp3 Dock in my Honda Accord??

Sign in to disble this ad
is as good a place as any to ask this, but...

has anyone done this aftermarket style and installed one? my '08 SEv6 didnt come with one, and its pissed me off beyond belief, cause the rear window antenna messes w/ every radio receiver ipod attachment i've tried.

I worked for Honda for a short while and they did have an ipod accessory available back then. I'm sure it's not the most inexpensive one on the market, but it did hard-wire it to the radio and you should be able to control the ipod with the radio controls.

I can't speak for Honda, but Mazda makes an aftermarket adapter for a 3.5mm input. The deck has a tape/aux input option, and the adapter plugged into the old cassette player input on the head unit (which remained even though Mazda stopped using cassette decks years ago). When I did mine, I hooked up my mp3 player and Sirius through it with a splitter. I spent a full Saturday, and pulled the dash, center console, and hard-wired everything, making sure to have all wires hidden and well routed. I'm very thrilled with the results.

I had the bottom of the line radio on my new car, and I opted to use the 3.5 mm jack on the face as opposed to replacing the radio to use the XM jack. I actually prefer the iPod interface to most aftermarket iPod interfaces on radios anyway.
