MSWord is doing something weird...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone,

I'm typing up a final paper and my paragraph spacing got weird. Instead of double spacing, it started triple spacing, and I can't find the reason. I turned on the Show/Hideś button and it's only registering one space, and it only starts halfway through the document. Any theories? Normally I wouldn't care, but I don't want to look like I'm padding for space.

Some examples of what I mean:
Correct and Incorrect

edit: There should be a comma between "that" and "through" in the second attachment... sorry, I got nitpicky and self conscious.

You have double spacing enabled, but you also have a 10pt after paragraph spacing which is now standard in MS Office 2007 or Office 2008 for Mac.

You now need to turn it off, or change the normal template to not use this after paragraph spacing.

It's Word 2004 for Mac, so it's defaulted to 13, but it's consistent throughout the doc.

oh wait... no it's not defaulted to 13, I just opened a blank document to check it out and it should be zero (by turn off did you mean "set to zero"?) I turned it down and it's all good now. I wonder how that happen, I don't even usually open the paragraph window, just set everything from the Formatting palette. Oh well, thanks a lot guys!
