I just wanna' rant for a bit. Over the last year and a half, I have looked at the Music Go Round website , and used their e-mail system, to get prices on items, and shipping prices. Even though I have bitched to their main office several times now, there are times, that I can e-mail one of thier stores, and NOBODY ever gets back to me at all, much less getting a price on anything. They claim , that they want to use their ability to sell on the net, to the best of their ability, and be one of the big boys on the block, but so far, for me, I'm about to just give up on even trying to buy from them, unless I just drive to each and every store, and just look at the stuff myself. We have 4 stores in the Twin Cities area, which is their home base. I think that they are just like any other of these music stores, or any other store, for that matter. They short staff themselves so bad, that nobody at the store, even has the time to look at their website, much less getting a shot at using the bathroom, when they need to go. I really keep trying to buy from them, but to no avail. I've also looked at Daddy's, and at the Guitar Center Used gear websites, but haven't actually tried to get any help out of them. I'm actually afraid to. I'm sure it'll be the same, no response, that I'm getting at Music go Round. I've actually had good luck, inside the stores. The Manager's at all 4 stores in the Twin Cities, are good guys, and are knowledgable. I tried to tell them they need to hire a part timer, to just man the website at each store. They more or less told me to go play with my self. I know I'd get more pleasure that way, thats for sure. There, thats my rant for today.

I used to visist the one in Maplewood alot. I manage to get to the one on Lexington fairly often. I have had great luck and poor luck in selling stuff their. Lately I haven't been able to get them to deal when I have been in the buying mode. Alot depends on who you are dealing with.
I have had variuose levels of cooperation and luck with stores outside of the Twin Ciries area.
I think their are 6 in the Twin Cities.

I forgot about Spring Lake Park, and Maple Grove, as I have never been to those two stores. I did talk to the manager at Maple Grove once. He said that he is a bass player, and sounded quite knowledgable, about all music stuff, where as I know only about bass stuff, and was looking for mics, and he seemed to know alot. The Burnsville manger is also quite sharp. We have a store up here in Duluth, but I don't recommend it. The store is an absolute pig pen. Stuff that has been there for years, is all piled up, and the piles just keep getting higher. They aren't willing to deal on any of it either, they just keep piling it up. You would think that with 6 stores in the Twin Cities alone, that they would have the market saturated, and would be closing stores, but I guess theres enough business to keep them all going. Sure wish they would answer there damn e-mails though. There is some stuff in some stores around the US, that I would really like to buy. Oh well.

Back in '76 or '77 I bought an Alverz-Yari acoustic from a store in Superior, that was a good store.
If you are gigging anywheres close, I could use it as a great reason toget to the cabin.
Best of Luck,
