Occasionally you come across a song that gives you a feeling that you can not put into words, one that you don't bother to waste your time trying to explain and you simply leave it at "i loveeee it". It doesn't matter to you if it's simple or if it's Complicated, popular or obscure, you feel almost "proud" that you're able to listen to it.
For me the first two that come to mind are "I can't help myself" by the four tops and "express yourself" by n.w.a.

As a young kid whose friends ( and future band mates ) were all into Kiss in a big way, Larger than Life hit me like a ton of bricks. Most of the Kiss stuff before that was anthem oriented songs ( and if truth be told somewhat clumsy ) but this was different. The guitar was pretty menacing, the bass was up front, low and mean. The words were given with all the testosterone and gusto you could want. Yeah, it was like BAM! welcome to puberty. It still stands as my fav Kiss song.

Even earlier than that, for me was Morningside by Neil Diamond. It was the first song that I recall hearing that evoked an emotion in me. I just ached with the feeling that song was giving me. It told a story and made me think. I couldn't have been more than 5 or 6.

MY favourite Kiss song too.

I still love listening to Only You/Under The Rose. Simmons finest ten minutes.

Any song with really emotional and literate lyrics does that to me. The Eternal by Joy Division, Song For Sharon by Joni Mitchell, Anesthesia by Type O Negative and The Soul Cages by Sting would be examples of this.
