If you want to download and store it, you pay a little more.

| | | | I was pretty pumped for this, but the library is terrible. I hope they expand it soon so I can justify buying the service. |

They've (impressively) signed with most major labels and are now working to build their indie labels offer. Rdio

I'm not in the US, so it may have been here for a while before hand, but I've had Spotify for a couple of years now.
I've stopped using it as much now, I had an invited account which gave me unlimited hours and unlimited plays (there were adverts), but a few months back they changed it so that the regular free and invited free accounts only gave you 10 hours and a limit of 5 plays (per song per month). I used to enjoy turning it on and using it like a radio while at the PC, but the new limit nefs that for me! Quote:

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Wilkes-Barre, PA | | | I enjoy Spotify quite a bit. I use it at work mostly. It's a great way to hear some songs/bands I don't already own and don't listen to enough to justify purchasing (no, I don't torrent or download free music. Mostly because in the past when I did that I also got a lot of viruses, which I don't want anymore, and also because I don't want to go through the hassle). I used to use Rhapsody and Zune, so I had a ton of music I lost when I cancelled the service and couldn't justify purchasing, so it's a great way to hear it all again. Plus, when a new cd comes out (such as 311's new cd), I can try it out first and decide whether I like it or not (I didn't). I also use Grooveshark online. It's not as neat/tidy as Spotify, but since it's all user uploaded, I can find more obscure bands, songs, and albums. Between those two, I can typically find nearly anything I want. I'm tempted to get Spotify premium so I can take the music with me in the car, but I loathe aux cables anymore, nor do I like bluetooth streaming (I prefer controlling my music through my steering wheel/head unit, and neither of those options allow that in my car), so I don't know if I can justify it since it wouldn't be used often enough. |

When he says it's just been released, he's referring specifically to the US launch. The launch here was delayed mostly for legal reasons and to allow time to build a sustainable business plan for its US operations. Cause let's face it: If anyone is going to sue a music platform, it's going to come from the U.S.

Spotify, the hottest streaming music service in the world, is here! Motorola has your invitation to try Spotify before it becomes available to the masses. Register now for a chance to be one of our lucky listeners. Rock on, while supplies last.
After reading more, it's actually from Motorola, not Comcast. It had the looks of a Comcast e-mail.
