Music Teacher?

Kind of an odd question on a bass forum but... I can't find a cello teacher where I live, Franklin, Tn. Are there any tools to try and find teachers. or any other ideas?

most high schools have a music teacher that at VERY least knows the bass clef - as far as technique and such u might go to a music shop and ask around usually they have business cards

call your local college, get in contact with the music department. they will help you find a teacher.

I feel for ya. I grew up in small towns and it really sucks to have to dig for information. There was no internet in the 60's so the only thing I had was the public library for what that was reallyworth.

Check your local churchs ..... the ones that have decent music programs, they might have a few string players. Ask around town, its totally posible that there are some people with cello experience (perhaps not the greatest, but they could help). There are probably a few people in town teaching piano, they might be some help in reading music, or other music questions... they might know a string player in town.

Good luck. There's nothing worse that having big city tastes and needs while you're living in a small town.
