Just a fun topic, I thought, based on this article:

Stretching it just a little, it seems to me that perhaps, at least as bassists, since we use both hands to create and reproduce our craft, maybe we use BOTH sides of our brains more than the average person. So, my theory is that, as musicians, or at least bassists, we reap many of the same brain functions suggested in this article, based on the statement, "possibly because using their left hands during childhood stimulated the development of the right half."
Just a thought to chew on...what are your thoughts?
