Do you have a bass older than you? I do- my DB is, by all reliable accounts, pre-WW-II. I'm circa 1963. Please do not expect me to dole out numbers or pay diddly of attention to this club after the first coupla posts.

I think there was one of these in the basses section, but I think I've also gotten more basses older than me since then so why not. I have a 78 jazz, 78 P, and 78 gibson G3. Plus three 70s and one 60s ampeg amps/cabs. Helps that I was born in the 80s.

Yeah, I totally lucked into it- I got my DB from a neighboring crank dealer in my first-ever apartment(nice guy, actually- he didn't do the stuff & had owned the bass for many years; when he moved out he sold me the bass & a small pile of accesories for a paltry $150 ).
I'll update the list & #s in a bit.

My MIM Jazz Bass is born the same in the same year as I was, so It could be older by a few months. So does that count? I would like a number if it does.

Are you *more mature* than your bass?
This club is very inclusive. Notice I do not require pics, & I'd probably give anyone who really wants a bass older than themself an honorary number.
Updated #s.

Edit: I really didn't intend to take this very seriously or expect to *participate* to any great extent, but feel free to share stories &/or pics of your old basses(DBs welcome, of course )

So am I stupid or is that a big ol' A on the bridge cover- as opposed to the traditional F?

Edit: Either way, very nice.
