Unhappy My dog died tonight

Sign in to disble this ad

I'll miss ya, Sam

She was fine a few weeks ago, started limping and wasn't eating last week, and collapsed tonight. When she was rushed to the vet ER her platelet count was near 0 and she was diagnosed with leukemia. She died before they could euthanize her.

She was seriously the best dog imaginable and this just doesn't seem fair. The vet said it was a rare form of leukemia but regardless she wasn't even 10.

This sucks

It's never fair. But the unconditional love and happiness they bring us in their lifetime makes it all worth it. Thoughts are with you.

My deepest condolences man. My dogs are like my kids... family. I can only imagine the pain of losing one or both... Take comfort in the memory of your happy time together and that you didn't have to watch her suffer long...

I'm assuming the big one is sam. Seems like he was a fine animal, based on the photo.

My dog is starting to get a bit old, and I'm sure im going to be an inconsolabe girl when she decides she has had enough of me. Can only imagine how you feel. Hang in there.

On the bright side, time to get a puppy!!!!!

She was the white one. Sweet as can be and an awesome bird dog - hospital visitation and AKC master hunter certified.

Thanks for the well wishes, guys. I'm doing better but the cat definitely knows something's missing.

I'm probably going to hold off on getting a puppy for a bit, since A. I don't want to pick one emotionally and B. I'll be moving to either Chicago or North Carolina at the end of the year.

It's always heart breaking. I'm sorry to hear it. I've only had the chance to own one dog under my parents roof top and they are the most loyal companions anyone could ask for. Through thick and thin...

I lost my dog a couple of years ago she was 14. Now my wifes dog is on the verge and her dog is 15.
They give us so much love for the time that we have them. Soory for your loss, man.
