My fridge...

I love my fridge. It's cold. Just like it should be. I have noticed that other people don't keep their fridge very cold. I just pulled out a bottle of Sam Adams Hefeweizen, and it had a tiny bit of ice floating in it. How awesome is that?

I guess if you like your beers ice cold it's awesome. Then again, if I want things ice cold I generally put them in the freezer.

I keep mine the same way.

The coldness knob goes from 1-10, and I usually keep it between 8 and 9 depending on the time of the year.

I want my milk just this side of freezing. When you dip a cookie, it almost hurts it's so cold. Little crystals of ice is perfect.

well one thing about it, one of my two fridge freezes everything on the top shelf. Which is fine for some things (tea, coke, etc) but wreak havoc on veggies and stuff. OH and try breaking an egg that is half frozen!! lol!

My fridge is too cold sometimes, the knob for adjusting the temperature and when my roommates and I first moved in here, we had a bunch of stuff freeze in there. We got it to turn somewhat, with some pliers, but it still is a little too cold and things will freeze from time to time.

I think my buddy who is big into beer brewing said that hefeweizen is "supposed" to be drunk at warmer temps like 60 degrees or something. Of course that's preference but the way he talks it is like drinking merlot at 40 degrees.

I do like my cokes and other drinks cold but I have noticed that with wines (I don't drink beer) if it's too chilled you lose a lot of the flavors.

I drink my wine pretty much room temp. After opening I may chill, or I might not. A customer of mine brews his own wine, and gave me a couple of bottles. The white he made is quite tasty, but I have not tried the red.

I have mine right in the middle. I don't want ANYTHING frozen. I only use my minifridge for drinks like water and Gatorade and storing my yogurt. Yes, real men eat yogurt.

I like my bottled water cool, but not real cold. Everything else, it's pretty cold.

I agree. They do. I'm a fan, but do they actually have a hefenweizen?

Yeah, but you're not missing much. Honestly, I think hefeweizen is one of the only styles where American craft brews don't measure up. New Glarus in Wisconsin makes an amazing one though I forget what it's called but most are just so-so. Still, I think Pyramids hefe is a good deal better than Sam Adams.

Well, the more you know I guess. I'm not a super huge fan of the hefenweizen taste personally.

Fun Fact: The refrigerator should never breach 40 degrees for preservation/bacteria killing issues.

EDIT: I prefer the Boston Lager myself. Mmmmm... dark...

My dad keeps beer in the basement fridge, a relic from the 30's. He keeps it at about 39, i think. In among the Sierra Nevada Pale Ales and homebrew are my mom's occasional Coors, Bud Light, and Miller. i'm afriad to drink anything, because if I drink the sierra Nevada he will notice it's missing, and if i drink the Coors etc. he will get mad at me for drinking the mediocre stuff.

Nope. I don't freeze what I fridge. Little crystals of ice is a little too cold for me.

Frozen Guinness is not good.
