My future in music... and Life.

As of this time, fellow bass players, I have come to the realization that following the immature "rock star/metal god" dream will probably never happen to me, and I shall continue on as a somewhat-talented hobbyist player... with a 9-5 job after college in a computer-related field, and my other hobby will be playing my video games and doing game reviews on LiveVideo or Revver or Youtube.

Yeah, can you tell I am not a social butterfly, and don't plan to be anytime soon?

Peace out. I probably won't be able to handle the "touring life" if I was in a touring band anyways.

Godspeed.

ah I don't care if i never become the "rock star" who tours the world and makes a whole bunch of money but I'm gonna keep my career in music... but probably tech stuff as well... that would be a great way for you to combine two things...

Don't worry, I stopped caring about that long ago. Just wanted to share my feelings.

Man, that sucks. I am a music major for undergrad right now, but that's mostly because it's a chance to spend time learning about what I love most (music). I doubt I'd be comfortable in a musicians lifestyle... my tastes are far too expensive, haha. I'm hoping to go to music business school and business school after that. Hopefully I'll get to work in the music industry... I really love the business side of music... it's far more interesting than me than the strictly financial sectors of business. As long as I'm able to support my family first and have some left over for my music, I'll be a happy guy.

Good luck on whatever path you choose to take!

I won't be leaving this stuff until I really feel everything is wrong and *******... That's my philosophy... I've spend too much time and soul on this to quit.

Even when it's good, the music business kind of sucks. It's really an immature way of making a living. Unfortunately at this point, I'm making more with it than I could elsewhere. But fortunately, I have a wife who's an RN about to become one of the big bosses, so I can be as immature as I want!
