ok so it seems like the earphone shielding connects to the case, the case is the aerial...so effectly the earphone becomes and extended aerial....i listen to mp3s while the phone is on transmitting data emails etc...
i now turn the sim off while i listen to mp3s |

Is it dangerous? That is another story. You can find equal numbers of studies on both sides of the issue. The latest study says NO.

Radiation from the concrete in the building you work in. Sure you're focussing some at yer head with the device, but you're already doomed.
