huge classic rock fans! My 11 year old son is really into AC/DC while my 15 year old daughter likes Rush, Eric Clapton and Led Zeppelin. They've been scrounging through my mp3 and cd collections and their mp3 players are loaded with a mostly classic rock. I guess I'm doing something right! Next stops on the music education train? James Jamerson, Larry Graham and Jaco!

Cool! My eleven year old is on a journey that's currently stuck at Iron Maiden. He also digs DLR-era Van Halen, Ramones and some 70's funk.

My Son's a GEETAR player and loves AC/DC and most of the harder stuff I like. He's also into the new growly, speedy stuff. My daughter is a Queen fan and has every song, Album, CD, DVD that they ever produced!!

Don't worry, I have a bunch more on the list including Iron Maiden, Motorhead, etc! My son also likes Ozzy. This is getting easier and easier.

It's funny because they're saying exactly what I'm saying about the current state of mainstream music. It sucks!

Whenever we go somewhere in the car, my 9 year-old insists that I play "Red Barchetta." He tells me that my music is "...better than Mom's."

Sweet, I'm 16 and my dad introduced me to classic rock, it's my favorite genre infact The Rolling Stones are my favorite band! Nice to see them getting into good music to many kids are into mainstream crap.

Oh all that classic rock also led me to blues, progressive and Old school metal. From King Crimson to Tool, Rolling Stones to Guns N Roses, BB King to Metallica

yes I listen to what most 16 year olds don't, and I love it

Not to sound like a hater, but when I was 16 most of the kids I knew listened to Classic Rock.
Right on for the King Crimson, though!

psh... I'm 16 now, and most everyone either listens to rap or alternative pop-rock/emo.

only myself and maybe 6 other people that I know at my school listen to progressive metal. I'm probably the only one who listens to classical music. Raggae, too.

heh, every time my neighbor (a fellow 16 year old) gets into the car with me, I usually have the XM reciever on "the joint", the raggae channel. She always says something like "WHat the hell are you listening to? This sucks... put on something normal.. like All American Rejects..."

It's a great experience sharing your love of music with those you love. Perhaps one day they will introduce you to some new music as they get older.

Thank you, Fontaine!

I was learning the riff to Jungle Boogie about a month ago, and my younger, eight-year-old son came into my office and started singing along, bobbing his head. I was amazed, and proud as heck!
