My leg... just after surgery and today

Sign in to disble this ad

This is just after, on February 4th. It's now 24 days later. I'm able to walk with a boot, but it tends to concentrate swelling right at the front of my ankle. That, and walking on it (which I am supposed to do, YAY!!!) tends to leave it swollen at the end of the day. But it's feeling better every day.

Here's how it looks today:

I broke my leg and twisted my ankle. The ankle was not being held together all that well and the fibula fracture was separated enough to require fixation. There is 8 screws (7 short, and 1 long) and a plate in there. The long one goes between my fibula and my tibia. My ankle is feeling great, though still a little tight.

Hey.. looks like your surgeon has down a real 'bang up' job on the damage. You'll be doing your normal routine in no time. Very tidy-looking work there. I'm sure however that the hidden stuff is even kooler than the scar

I really wanted to see it. After only 2 weeks I was able to put weight on it. I'm just glad I didn't mess up my ligaments that bad, apparently I just stretched them a bit. I really am very satisfied with the results.

Let's come up with a nickname for the scar...something like "Frankle" (Frankenstein ankle)
