I'll be amazed if this thread lives very long.

Is it possible that the poll was multiple choice? If so, people who would be willing to back several of the candidates would cause the percentages to be funny.

It gave me a headache trying to figure out a possible reason why they used those numbers.

I like to give the benefit of the doubt before I jump on the fail wagon... but alas..

this seems reasonable. The anchor man sounded like he was a bit unsure, though, so either way he didn't know about it.
