This was most tequila fueled inspiration combined with being high off of fumes from the lacquer. The top is from a tree the tree service guys cut down. I asked them for a slice and got it.
Base is from a table I found in the trash and took the base off of. I spray painted it with rustoleum black. Stained, sanded, and leveled the table when I was drunk a few weeks ago. I finally got around to finishing it with lacquer. Those fumes sure make you fly.
This also hasn't helped my pneumonia, but neither has going to town painting my basement floor.

I asked them to save me some. Its been sitting in my basement next to the furnace for almost a year.

I already started the next one. Its going to have a chess board built in.

The largest tree slice is about 4 feet in diameter from the base of the old apple tree that was growing back there. The rest are from other trees that were sitting in my backyard. Bamboo, unfortunately, killed most of the trees.

| | ~ | | | | | Cool! I did something similar years ago, except I just stained it, and then poured something similar to System 3 epoxy on it instead of lacquer.

I think that as long as I stay away from drawing, my stuff turns out pretty good.
