Hey guys,
I just finished up a small 80's styled arcade shooter for Windows, DOS and Mac OS X 6/Snow Leopard. Honestly, this crowd seems like a fun bunch, so I was wondering if anyone wanted to try playing...
Give a little feedback, or report any bugs... http://www.brooklyncodebits.com/game...adeWindows.zip - Windows 32-bit version (should work on 64 as well) http://www.brooklyncodebits.com/game...eOSX6Intel.zip - Mac OS X Snow Leopard version http://www.brooklyncodebits.com/game...iArcadeDOS.zip - DOS version
So far, seems like Windows works great. OS X is fine as long as you're on Snow Leopard (crashes on anything earlier). DOS has mixed results - runs fine in a DOS emulator, but I tried it on a Windows XP machine that can run DOS VGA-13h stuff - graphics didn't totally load.
Lemme know what the bass playing, game loving community thinks... I still may change the enemy shot shape and color.

-Mike | Thanks! I hope to make more of them someday. I'm just not a good artist. This will probably be my last time as an artist on anything.

When I launch the EXE, my whole screen goes back and flashes. Not sure how to get out of it, so I start task manager and end task it.
Edit...very tricky how you hide those green bombs eggs in with the powerups........

-Mike | Make sure you unzipped all the files.
Thanks for the feedback, I will make sure the enemy fire is on top of the item drawing order.

me, not the game.
Ever heard of Unity? I use it for the game I'm working on. (Small team, I'm just the track designer/builder)

I also have an older copy of Torque 3D. Dunno any modelers, nor do I have the resources for a 3D game. I'd love to see what you're working on though!

This will get you to the forum for Unity.

This has been an ongoing labour of love for Ken and the dev team for over 5 years. All volunteer, in our spare time.
Also, if you like, you can look me up on Youtube and see some of my MWO vids, from the beginning. Just search for Ayce1955. Early ones are pretty rough, and the tracks were done in what is now called Gamecore. We also tried Torque for a while, but there were problems.
On a side note, if you watch the first one, Drag Strip, the music is a song a band I was in did at the local BoB.

Also to the OP, cool game too, actually pretty addictive, though my skills are definitely lacking, lol. Btw I'm running win7 x64 home premium (or something along those lines) and it works great.

My coding abilities end at basic java data structures and even more basic C. I am however working on a pretty cool game using the GameMaker program. If anyone wants to mess with it let me know, I could use some testers. It's kinda a puzzle/action/top down shooter game.
