My old cat died the other day.

She is the one pictured in my avatar. She was old (19) and was showing her age....so her death was not unexpected.

Boy it is amazing how attached we get to these little fury creatures.

If you have pets be sure to treat them well since they won't be around forever.

I am not a cat person but everyone who owned a pet that died knows what you are going through.

My kitty is 18. I know her time is coming soon, but she's had a great life and given my family much joy.

I had a 22 year old cat that died a couple years ago, it's hard having a pet you've had your whole life die. My condolences, good luck.

sorry to hear that!!pets , they become part of you in some ways..she had a good long healthy life.. 19 is a good run.. ...having the same at the moment with my dog...she is 17 and has cancer in her leg..was going to operate but think it would have been to much on an old body and decided to let her live out her time with me rather than at a vet..i will do what i have to when the time comes but she is not in pain right now and still enjoys her walks..its never easy to let them go...

We tend to take in cats that are gimpy or otherwise generally unwanted in one way or another(deaf, semi-feral, etc)so we end up losing them fairly regularly. It always hurts. Sorry, man...

My family had a cat that passed at age 21. The family buried her in the back yard and grieved for a month. When I came back off the road it was the first thing I did when I got back.

My son has taken in a blind cat that was in a parking lot. It's been several months and the cat has mapped out his place really well. She has a brain tumor and has a seizure every now and then, but otherwise is just as sassy, lazy and faux-regal as most of the species.

Sorry for your loss....

Being owned by a cat for that long, wow. It is a loss of a family member, not a pet. You have my deepest sympathy.

Sorry for your loss.

You must have taken very good care of her.
I lost both of my cats in the last 2 years. The oldest was also 19 years old when she died.

Got a 15 year old dog to take care of now, but when he goes I'll get another cat or two.
